I applied via internet for a Bank1 Visa with my employer's logo (special group of some sort) because I was trying to obtain credit to rebuild after my BK7 was discharged July 2003. Naturally it was denied last month. However... I recall reading that Creditors doesn't want us to know... they know people that filed for BK are GOOD RISK because they no longer have debt (AS LONG AS THAT PERSON HAS GOOD INCOME, etc..) Should I try calling Bank1 and ask for reconsideration, if so who should I ask for? do you know specific person's name that usually reconsider? I wouldn't mind really low limit so they don't have risk of losing money if they hand me 5000 CL! LOL! I don't want large CL! 500 would do.. if 100.. I'll take it! Any advices? should I try reconsideration or fugheddaboudit? Thanks! Tom Gagliano P.S. I already have a secured $300 limit from American Pacific Bank since October... always paid on time in full.
Theres a thread (target denied) over at creditboards where someone who works at bankone says the system will initially deny due to BK, but manual review can approve if it is 7 years post-BK (7 or 13) and have a solid credit history since the BKO. Same thing happened at AMEX, so the banks are softening up a bit since 2002 where it was really stringent underwriting.
