Need helping being pointed in the right direction. I've used this forum for years, fantastic resource and community. Friend of mine declared BK about a year ago, recently they were in an accident where their car was totaled.

Googling people to do auto financing for people with BK's yields a variety of results and I was just wondering if anyone here had any ideas where are good/reasonable (within the realm of reality) for people to get auto financing if you have a BK?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Happy to hear you've found this forum to be helpful over the years. Hopefully we'll see you around more often now that you've made your first post.

Anyway, I would tell your friend to visit some local credit unions and discuss his options. You will find that they are generally more customer oriented and open to working with people who may have had some problems in the past but have changed their ways and are looking for a reasonable loan to help build their credit scores again.

Credit unions often have the best rates on used auto loans too. In fact, I used one for my last auto loan and was very impressed with the whole experience. Great rates, nice people, and customer-friendly application process.

Thanks Joshua. I actually had an account for a while here but was inactive for a while, and it seems it was purged.

Thanks for the advice, I figured there was no magical solution but I wanted to ask the question and see if anyone had ideas. I'll definitely suggest credit unions!

    Thanks again.
