Does anyone know the answer to this - My wife had a Discover card in her name only. We filed BK. When our BK falls off and I were to apply for a Discover Card in just my name and was approved, and I wanted to add her as an AU, would they see that she (we) filed BK on them and decline us both? She had an AMEX card and had me listed as AU. After BK falls off, can I apply for my own card and do you think they would know I was an AU on her card and decline?
Technically you should be able to add her as an AU with no problems once the BK falls off. However, Discover does blacklist and there is a good chance that her name/address will match an internal blacklist when adding her as AU. I do think that once the BK falls off, your chances are good all will be OK.
