I have several accounts that were included in a bankruptcy. Am I able to have them removed as they are included in the bankruptcy, or do they remain on my report with the status: included in bankruptcy?
I have kind of the same question. I posted it a few days ago but no response. I've heard different things. I read that the account should state "included in bankruptcy". I'm thinking if this is true, maybe it doesn't effect your score as bad. Read this and tell me what you think: http://www.bayhouse.com/credit-forum/showthread.php?threadid=358&highlight=bankruptcy Come on board!! Does anyone have any additional information about this?
bump this up. all my entries say included in bk/charged off. these accounts werent charged off when i filed so how can they show it this way???
It doesn't matter - as long as they say Incl in BK, they aren't rated. Yes, they can show as charged-off because they were probably charged off as losses when you filed BK.
no, they are not charged off. You still owe a charge off debt, even if the CC co has decided not to pursue it.
I agree. A chargeoff usually shows a balance unless it has been sold or assigned to a collection agency, and even that doesn't matter sometimes. Your report will show balances for both the original creditor and the collection agency. I think with the "included in bankruptcy" notation, the balance should be zero and account unrated. I think by having a unrated account and zero balance it would therefore make your score higher (at some point).
