Good sources to read up on bankruptcy rules are lawdog.com and nolo.com. They give you the basic information you need to understand how the process works. Then if you feel you must proceed, most attorney's offer some kind of free consult to go over your situation and let you decide from there. From all the bankruptcy boards I've read in the two years since I filed MOST people who went for consults felt they weren't pressured into making a choice then and there. It also eased their minds tremendously on a lot of topics they were concerned about because of misinformation or no knowledge of the process. It's your decision ultimately, even after the consult. Good luck. And read more here on the board about problem credit situations (First few threads are full of good information), see if they apply to you and could be handled another way. Newstdt
