I was just wondering what are a few tips you guys have for recovering a good credit score after a Bankruptcy Filing. I am recently undergoing a Bankruptcy, It's my first and i was just wondering if you can help me out with some good advice.
Pull your credit reports the day you file. That gives you a marker of how each of your tradelines were reporting before. Creditors can't add new derogatory info after you file - not to say they won't try (like changing a 90 day late to a charge off) About 30 days after discharge pull your reports again. From what I have heard they will be a mess. Start cleaning your reports. Opt out from PRM offers, unless you want to be bombarded with every $300 cr line with $299.50 in start up fees that you can imagine. As soon as you feel financially ready, open a couple of small credit cards, Orchard is usually forgiving. Use the cards wisely, stay below the 50% utillization mark, and let time start healing your wounds.
