I noticed that on the bankruptcy legislation the date is last year. If the legislation goes into effect does this mean it is retroactive, or is that just the date when it was first brought forward for consideration?
Any changes in bk laws won't take affect until 180 days after the President signs it into law. The changes aren't retroactive.
