During my divorce a few years ago I got into debt problems and find it difficult to get credit now. I have applied for a Visa 3V prepaid debit card so I can use it online to get a copy of my credit history from Equifax and Experian. I'd never heard of it before and don't know how widely accepted it is. I would prefer a basic bank account which offers a similar card, ie Solo or Electron, which seem to be much more widely accepted. I would be grateful if anyone who has had some experience in these things could shed some light on the subject. I have trawled the net and just got more and more confused.
    Many thanks, Elaine.

I hear the prepaid Visa debit cards and their ilk will bury you in fees. Why not apply for a small secured card like Orchard?
