Hi Jam remember the suggestion you gave me about filing a complaint with the BBB against the CRA. and how they have to respond because they are BBB members? awhile back we discussed how you sent them a huge packet like 50+ pages.. well my complaint was rejected. I recieved a letter from experian stating they couldn't verify my identity l? even though they had my full name, address ( to send the letter to me,) my dob, ss, and file # gee what more could they possibly need to investigate my claim. a blood sample? I sent Experian a response and attached their ignore letter to it and sent the BBB and experian one a few weeks ago and I am still waiting for a response. was just wondering did your complaint produce any results?
Their answer was that they either had verified or deleted (YES, they actually claimed that they didn't know which they had done) in accordance with the law. And that the law doesn't require them to involve themselves in any disputes between the consumer and the data furnisher, or some other phrasing. That was the gist... Of course, by the time they responded, I had 'notified the OC' & the CRA*S* of the fraud, with WhyChat's Time-Barred C&D edited just so that EX couldn't say that I hadn't notified the OC of the fraud, and to provide them constructive notice that as advised by the Their State & My State Attorney Generals, I have turned this matter over to an attorney for enforcement of my rights under Federal Law. The account was deleted from EX before EX responded to the BBB, according to PG, and deleted from TU about a week later (You got to love the lag time between processing).
congrats on your success do u happen to have the link to whychats post so I can check out the letter ? I want to work that angle as well. thanks for the input.
