I was wondering what a decent score is? And how long it takes to boost a score, using on time payments, but with bad credit in the past. Like after 2 years, it goes up 5 points, each ontime payment gives you 1 point a month, etc. Also, what kind of score do I need for certain cards. (REALLY want an AMEX blue card! - They are cool!) My score is 559 (low, I guess), How can I get it to a good level? VERY DESPARATE! Dustin
Amex told me that they usually approve apps. (for any card) as long as the score is 680 or higher. They may choose to override the decline if you call in and have a score that is close.
