hi there! i was just served with papers stating that i am being sued by a creditor. i've never been sued before, and don't know what to do. i do know that i can't afford an attorney, and the thought of having to appear before a judge alone scares the hell out of me. this credit of $3500 is legit and has been validated, and is about two years old. could i just call the creditor's attorney and settle with him before the lawsuit???? or is it too late for that? thanks for any advice or help!
