I am being sued for a copier Lease, Lawsuit was filed in PA, I live in Utah. They are saying I have 20 days to appear. Do they really expect me to fly to PA or can I have an Attorney Represent me. I kind of got threw under the bus for this thing. I signed the lease for the Machine, but I didn't work for the company that leased it. My partnered owned another company and they leased the equipment for the company I was partners in. I never filled out a Credit Application or anything, when they delivered the machine they said they needed a signature. They delivered it to my office not his because that is where it was going to be used. Now I am getting sued for the lease because he sued me saying I never had an affiliation with the other comapny and I signed a lease for that company. He is just trying to get out of it. The Lease was supposed to be in my company name and they told me it was, but because he already had a lease with them, they just went off of his companies payment history and delivered it to us. Do I have a leg to stand on.

In my personal opinion I think you need to hire an attorney with some experience dealing in corporate law.
