What are the benefits of a bill paying service? I don't understand the benefit, with so many companies allowing you to pay on their web sites directly or set-up for automatica withdrawl if you want it through them. Am I missing something? Buckets
Buckets, It saves you time. I use AmEx Bill Payer and for $10 a month I don't have to worry about signing up on 55 sites to do the payments. When you have 2 accounts to pay, billpayer may be an overkill. But when you have 15+ then it really comes in handy. Besides, AmEx pulls the majority of the cc bills directly from the web site of the bank\company, so no paper mail either. Takes down the possibility of ID Theft. PawMix
I've been a Paytrust customer for 2+ years now (American Express Bill Center). The main advantage is that they present all my bills on one screen and it takes me about 30 seconds to pay everyone. Just about all payments post within 4-5 days electronically. They amalgamate bills via "smartbill" - you give them your web access IDs and they get your monthly statements for you. For the few bills I have that don't have web access, they give you a PO box to have the bills sent to (you change your address to the PO box) and they scan them and present the pictures to you. I travel a lot and it's a great way to ensure nobody is forgotten or paid late. -mj
