Don't know if anyone wants to do this, but what is everyone's opinion on the best and the worst credit cards of 2001. Also, if you want, list a brief reason of why. I'll start. Best: Capital One, because they dropped my interest rate 6 points, upgraded my card to gold, and quadrupled my credit line (500-2000). I know some have gripes about this company tho, so I'm keeping a good eye on payments posting, etc. Worst: Providian, for jacking up rates, and lending subprime cards to PRIME customers. Nextcard, for their weasly ways in about everything they do.
Chase is my best for allowing me to have 4 accounts. Providian was the worst for not lowering their rate from 23%, closed them. www.creditsense.com
Bank of America is my best. They lowered my interest rate from 10.9% to 9.9%, raised my credit limit and upgraded me from Gold to Platinum in one call. Very good customer service. My worst is Providian. They are great for building or rebuilding and have good customer service, but like matty said, they will keep prime customers in the subprime arena. If you started subprime, that is where you will remain. No chance for Platinum upgrades. After six years of perfect payments, I ought to know.
