What if any information can any of you give me for making my disputes. I guess I'll give you my info first if you need additional input (there's alot more to credit than I've ever relized) let me know. My current experian score is 589. I retained Lexington two months ago. TransUnion sent the "won't deal with third party letter" since then I haven't heard a thing from them only from Lex that they would deal with it. Experian sent back there notification and didn't delit anything, since then Lex has sent in another dispute to them. Equifax (same as Experian, see above). Since, March 31st my score on experian has gone from 505 to 589 ( I guess from paying my bills on time ). I've been reading the board on and off and I'm like many of you( I want to get my score as high as possible). I'm starting to think I should can Lex and do this on my own ( I have the time ). I just need some more input ( and reassurance) as I don't want to screw-up. I have about six negatives on all my reports, some where collections and late payments. But I have paid off all the collections and make my other payments on time now. While these negative accounts are valid there most be away around this. I do have explainations four about four of them. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated ( including reassurances that it can be done). I'm glad I found this place and I'm looking forward to any and all responses) Thanks, FICO750
First, find out what reason Lexington used to dispute so you don't use the same reason. I started my first disputes with not mine - I got quite a few off that way. How long ago did you pay off the collection? You could also use the not mine the first time around. Same thing with the late pays - if that doesn't work you could always try disputing that you were never late. Then there is always the validation letter to CA, and also the goodwill letter. Read the FAQs and do some searches on this board. There is alot of good advice here. What you want to find out might not be listed on todays discussions, but you will find out alot of info with the search function. Don't explain anything to the CRAs' - they don't care! It can be done - its just a question of how long it will take to get it accomplished.
breana, It has been about four months since the collections were paid off (lump sum). I should have talked with the people from each account and said that I would pay them off if they would change the report from negative back to positive. But, hey I guess we all make mistakes, especially where credit is concerned.
I would still start off with the dispute of not mine, if you haven't already done so. If they verify, I would send a validation letter to the CA, and also dispute it again with the CRAs for another reason once you know they have the validation letter in hand. If they validate it, you could always try the goodwill letter to get it removed.
I'll have to check the dispute vallet on Lexington Law firms' website to check on how each was disputed. Can't remember two months ago. Thanks. Anymore input anyone ?
