MBNA Plat. no fee, 3.9% for 6 months.

Citibank is offering 0% interest on BTs for nine (some are six months) months, but their is a 3% transaction fee involved up to $50.

Juniper is offering 1.9% for six months, with no fees.

Chase is offering 0% for twelve months, with fees (I believe this one is by invitation though).

I think Bank of America is also offering a low balance transfer rate, but I don't know much about it. Maybe someone else knows.

    Thanks Dani & Wolverine.

Wolverine, I tossed the ATT Universal app that came in the mail.

If I get approved instantly online, how long till the balances are transferred? The DMB card has approx $2100 @ 11.74% & Chase $1100 @ 9.9%, combined UR 23%. Since I'm on track to pay off both within 6 weeks, I estimate about $80 maximum interest to accrue during that time. I don't want to waste inquiries.

I'm wavering on MBNA. Do they have a blacklist? I have an unpaid $195 C/O from 1994 that appears on their computer, but was never reported. However, prior to charging it off they had sic'ed a very unpleasant man named Scott from Viking Collections on me, & I vowed never to be indebted to these people again.

I know first usa has a bad rep, but they have a 0% apr for 6 months and if you do the transfer over the phone , there are no fees.

Does FUSA apply the 2-cycle average daily balance method to all their cards?

1 more question...does it really take up to 3 weeks for the BT payment to post? If not what's the soonest I can expect?

yes fusa does have the 2-cycle thing, that might be a bummer. But I personally like to pay 0% interest on $5000 dollars anytime. I have 2 fusa cards both with 0% interest with a balance of 10k between the 2 cards. thats at least a savings of 80-100 dollars a month for 6 months. ( if we calculate the apr as 8 to 10 %)

If the credit card where the balance is going to transfered from takes electronic payments, like my citibank platinum select, fusa only takes up to 5 days for it to post. I just did a transfer and I can confirm that.

    Great!

    Thanks a lot everyone.

DMB already said 8.74% purchase & 11.74% Cash advance is the best they can do. But I'll still call them today to tell them I'm about to do a BT and see if they'll budge.

I should have done this before, but I've been gun-shy about applying. How much of a hit do you think my scores will take?
