Currently I carry a balance on MBNA, bt rate of 1.7% which expires next month then it's up to 9.99%. I'm gonna need a few more months to pay it off. Has anyone had success in extending an intro APR/special promo BT rate by 6-8 months?

My other option is open a new card with a low BT rate. I got a pre-approved Discover platinum app. in the mail 0% for 12 months. I'd rather not get a new card because I'd take a huge score hit, maybe I'm better off with MBNA at 1.7%?

Also, is Discover Platinum better than Titanium? Are there any other cards that offer 0% for 12 months?

    Suggestions and comments are welcome!

It wouldn't hurt to call and ask MBNA. We are benefiting from 2 Discover accounts @ 0% until Aug. They have worked well for me.

There aren't any reasonable X% for life offers floating around, are there? Just considering my options if Crap1 doesn't want to budge on the APR.

Me and my fiance both have 2.9 for life on Amex Blue.

I've seen some other post about 3.9 on Blue

I saw the Blue Cash advertises 5.9 for life on bts.

Bank of America frequently offers prime on bts till paid (currently 4.25)

Slayer, I've heard from several sources that MBNA will extend the promotional period for a few extra months.

I don't know if it's still available, but a few months ago I got 3.9% for the life of the transfer, no BT fees, from AT&T Universal card.
