I haven't applied with them, but my fiancee bought a big screen TV at Best Buy last year, and he has perfect credit and they only approved him for $1500. The TV was like $800 more than that....you would think that they would approve him for the amount of what he wanted to buy...but they didn't.

So, I don't think they are that lenient. I have no experience with the Good Guys..we don't have those here (the boonies!)

    Hope this helps!

I don't know about Good Guys, but Best buy financing is usually done through Household Bank.

My first computer was 0.00% with payments for 6 months...the loan amount was the amount of the computer rounded up to the nearest $500...(SOUND TRACK)

I applied for Best Buy back in 1999. They gave me a credit line of $500. I cancelled it one month later. My guess is they are pretty strict.

I have had the card for about six months. They
approved me based on Equifax (702 at time).
They gave me a line of ten percent of annual
income. They use HH Bank and GE/Mongram depending on where you are located. I find HH Bank
very lenient. Why not? Anything you buy on the card
is secured ie no pay, they repossess

Once you get your foot in the door with Household they are very leinent. But it took my husband and I (joint account) to get a $2500 credit limit with CompUSA when we first applied. They are great about increasing the limit (they do pull a soft inquiry on one of your credit reports though) but the credit lines are usually pretty large...$1500 - 2000 at a time. When I applied for the Best Buy card they were then owned by Beneficial, whom Household bought out.
