if you spend over 6,000 amex blue cash, under that or right around 6,000 a year would be any 1% cash back card.

I would have to say the Citi Dividend card. You get a flat 1% cashback on all purchases ($300 cashback ceiling per year).
The ongoing APR is 9.9%. I recently called customer service for a lower rate. No go. Immediately called retention. I was offered 6.9% for purchases, but since I accepted a 0% balance transfer option with no fees, I received a 7.9% APR.
Not bad at all for a rewards card.

If you are looking to invest your cashback dollars, I would suggest the Chase Stockback card. You get 1% for all purchases, but can get up to 10 or 15% cashback if you use specific online or brick and mortar stores that are part of the program.
The cashback is deposited into a mutual fund account. I believe you can also just receive the cash if you like. The interest rate for preferred customers is I believe 11.9%, but there is a 2.9% intro APR for 6 months for purchases and balance transfers.
My six month promo rate is up this billing cycle so I called retention. The representative dropped my rate to 9.9% APR.

What ever your choice, good luck!! Hope this helps some.

I have the Chase Perfectcard....1% on ALL purchases and 3% on ALL gas purchases...
    Best one I've found.

Another vote for the Chase perfect card. I have the freedom card (same thing), and have yet to see one that matches it if you're just in it for the cash back.

It's by far my favorite card.

What about banks other than Chase? They have probably blacklisted me if they have such a list even though I have excellent credit now...

How about the Citgo Preferred Visa? 1% cash back, and it's immediately applied to your bill. Limit $40 rebate per month. Good if you don't charge much.

You also might want to check out the Fleet Cash Dividend card. You receive 1% cashback for all purchases. I received a pre-approval that offered 0% APR for purchases through January 2005. After that, a go to of 9.49%. You receive a $25 check for each $2,500 spent.

Since Fleet is merging with Bank of America, I am contemplating applying for this card. As much as I love BofA, they have no cashback or points programs without an annual fee. :-(

Bank One also has a card called Flexible Rewards Signature Card. I haven't visited their website, but I received a pre-approval that also offers 0% intro rate on purchases for 12 months. After that, the purchase rate is 9.9%. You receive 1 point for each dollar spent and you can choose which rewards you want (ie: 1% cashback, airline tickets w/o blackout dates, merchandise, gift certificates). Sounds like an awesome deal..........Hmmmm.....why am I passing these up? LOL
