What are the best credit cards to get with a 721 EQ FICO? I want to do this all in one day so I can bump off the inquiries on EQ. I also want to apply before my HELOC reports and right after I close on my house. cma said that the AMEX Delta card will not approve you if you have any inquiries with in the last 60 days. Do mortgage inqs count? I want to get 5-6 cards with good limits so I can offset the HELOC. All I have on my EQ are 2 accounts with lates, but they are now closed and paid for. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
I know you asked about equifax pulling banks, but if your exp. has a 660 or better, you might consider applying for one of the citibank cards. They are usually very generous with the credit limits. I received an offer in the mail, and I don't know if it is available online, but it was for the AT&T Universal Platinum card with 0% on BT's until August of 2004 and I believe it 10.24 % otherwise.
I have been very pleased with Bankone so far, they have given me a couple of cards w/decent limits with low scores when NOBODY else would. I had no revolving history so I kept getting denied. They approved me for my first card for 2500 with 6 inqs and a score of I believe 670ish, second card 3 or 4 weeks later for 5k with 7 inqs and a score of 650ish. With you having a score of 720, I am sure you could much higher limits. They do not have instant approval though I don't think. And they pulled Efx each time.
LKH, My EXP is in the 640 to 650 range, but it also shows a med collection with "No Status", an unpaid collection and 2 charge offs. I had 2 Citi accounts when I was a kid but I screwed up those accounts and 1 was charged off. I am not too sure how Citi will look at my EXP report. tnobles, It sounds like Bank One maybe the way to go. Thanks to both of you for your advice!
Amex will approve u with a zillion inquiries, u just gotta learn to swashbuckle a rep into a manual override. I did it with a 671 FICO and 23 inquiries, and got a BLUE CASH with a 5 k limit, and what an ugly card it is,,
Re: Re: Best CC to get with 721 EQ FICO? It is best to call the 800 number to apply for credit cards or is it better to do it online? Also since I will be moving will it be okay to change the address when applying even though the address is not yet on my credit reports? Can I deal with a CSR to handle this? Thanks!
Re: Re: Re: Best CC to get with 721 EQ FICO? I always apply online, but I hear you will have a better chance if you apply by phone.......... let us know and GOOD LUCK
Re: Re: Re: Re: Best CC to get with 721 EQ FICO? Mr. G: Is there any truth to this or is it an urban legend? And...if there is an advantage to applying by phone, what could it be? Often the person at the other end of the line is a contracted service (order taker) with no decision power. Thoughts?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Best CC to get with 721 EQ FICO? I agree with you that 50% of the time the person is powerless but at amex chase and bank one I think they can over ride auto declines on computer such as too many inquires or bk 7 years ago. but its only what i,ve heard through the vine.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Best CC to get with 721 EQ FICO? DUNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO???????????????????????????????????
