Emboldened by my recent AmEx success, I'm thinking of going for more before the hit registers. What are the best rewards cards for Chase and BofA? I don't really travel, so looking more for retail rewards, gas, etc. TIA ka
Chase Stockback - up to 11% back from select merchant purchases http://creditcardsatchase.com/portal/site/marketing/index.jsp?pgTitle=pg_stockback BofA travel platinum visa - earn rewards points for stuff http://www.bankofamerica.com/creditcards/index.cfm?template=cc_travelvisa
I have the Chase Perfectcard which give 3% on gas and 1% on purchases and they give it to you as a credit on your statement. Most of the others give it to you in gift certificates or online stuff. I prefer hard cash myself so I like that card. Don't have a BofA card so I can't say what is good from them.
Another vote for the Chase Perfect card. It's great getting the rebate automatically credited on the next month's statement. With the Stockback card you do get the full 1% on every purchase plus extra cash back from select retailers, but it takes months for the cash to be available and weeks to receive the check in the mail. Also have the Bofa 9.9% fixed Visa with no BT fees. Nice card to carry a balance when they mail out promo rates. Don't know about the Bofa rewards cards.
Thanks Steve. I did apply for the Chase perfect card, still waiting on the decision though. Just last week I closed my 1 year old Platinum with them because they had reduced my CL by 1,900 due to an account review back in September. I did get approved for the BofA Platinum, 9k cl. I'm not so sure that was the best card to apply for...but it's too late now. ka
