Does anybody know where the best place to get copies of my reports is? Are there sources that are more comprehensive than others in terms of information provided? is it better to get them online or through the mail from each CRA? Thanks, benbenben
Direct from the CRAs via their websites or the site Apex mentioned is the best. I actually think EQ's online version is more comprehensive then what they send you in the mail - at least its easier to read.
I agree w/jlynn and Apex; if you want your credit scores, go to www.myfico.com However, I still think it is best to get the reports directly from the agencies first. As jylnn stated, the information is much more complete and detailed.
You can still receive 25% off myFICO products through Creditnet.com. We also have products from the CRA's. You sign up for a trial period of monitoring and receive free access to your report. http://consumers.creditnet.com/Credit_Services/Credit_Monitoring/
With all due respect the reports at MyFico.com have gone downhill. Lots of information is missing, or shows up as "Not Reported", when it is indeed reported. Also it disseminates lates in odd ways - for example a C/O may show up as 120 days past due. The monitoring reports are just as bad... they are great for monitoring but not to rely on in the beginning.
Agreed, though it costs a bit to get both, I think it is worth the "paying twice" for the reports to get the quality information. Lately, FICO's "score" impact narrations have gotten a bit odd as well.
