I searched around a little here, but couldn't really find this info. I can see that many of you here obviously have your scores from one or two dates a year, and I was wondering what the best way of getting my scores would be. I see www.myfico.com will give me all 3 scores and 3 CRs one time for about $48. Transunion seems to do the same with unlimited access for $25 for the first month, and $15 a month after that. Personally, I don't really care about my reports, since I can still get my free annual report, and with the updates (after changes due to deletions, etc) I usually can find a way to keep new, fresh reports coming in without paying for them. So, it's really the scores that I am looking for. . .anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance,
And that's the Transunion service, correct? So $25 for the first month and then $15 a month after that? I would certainly like to be able to have constant access. . .just looking for the best deal, I suppose.
I have access to three credit reports and two FICO scores. One of the three credit cards that I have is a Washington Mutual. Just from being a card member there, I have access to my TU FICO score for free. I also have been paying for--what was--MBNA Privacy Assist, which is now Bank of America Privacy Assist. I pay $9.99 a month and have access to all three CA's credit reports. Through them, I have access to my Experian credit score. So the only thing I am missing is the Equifax FICO, although I do have the credit report through Bank of America' Privacy Assist.
I use Truecredit to keep a watch on my reports since stuff is changing so fast for me right now. I can refresh the reports and scores once every 24 hours. Now the drawback I just found out is those scores don't mean diddly. They are a lot higher than the actual scores like a creditor gets to see. So I went in and signed up with equifax for score watch. That is $7.95 a month. Not sure on the other 2 just yet. My main concern was our Equifax scores needed to be raised so we are using that for our base.
MYFICO is a really good service to pull all 3 credit reports from. use this code to get a 20% discount off of your purchase. CPPSAVINGS
Check your Bank Your current bank may have an incentive service for credit reports too. ( Like Tony SAID!) Bank of America offers this: http://www.bankofamerica.com/pap/index.cfm?template=pap_assist_premier FYI: Also BoA is now offering free stock trades with a 25k balance in combined accounts. FREE PAYPAL.COM customers get a notice when there are changes to your CRs. AJ P.S, I am using TrueCredit at the moment..why are they considered fake? How off are the scores?
There's no correlation between TrueCredit scores and FICO scores. No one uses TrueCredit scores for anything except making you feel better.
The only downside of BoA is that they only refresh the reports every 90 days. This is from ther website: ---------- Easy-to-read, full summary credit reports Every 90 days, you will get an updated, easy-to-read summary credit report that collects data about credit activities and credit scores from the 3 leading agencies. ----------- I use myfico, but would rather have a service that I can pull fresh reports every few days (without paying another $48), as I am in the middle of trying to get a neg TL removed, and following closely the activities of the CA. Anyone have any suggestion as to who provides this service? Complete copies of all three reports refreshed daily for a reasonable fee? Thanks
From what I understand Truecredit is the only one that you can refresh your reports every 24 hours. However like I stated above I found out their scoring system is not accurate so you can't count on that part. But I have had excellent results with refreshing the credit reports daily. It has helped me keep up with day to day changes. I only pay $14.95 a month and have access to all 3 reports. Since I also needed to watch our scores, mainly equifax. I subscribed to score watch through the equifax website. They tell you your score and then notify each time it changes. That is $7.95 a month. Not sure what the best options are for getting all 3 (and having them correct).
