hi, I'm noticing that a lot of you seem to be checking your scores on a regular basis..what is the best way to do this..without paying a fortune? Thanks BNB
I use Experian's CreditExpert. You can pull your scores/credit reports every day if you like. I think it is like $7/month.
Each time you file a dispute and the CRA changes or removes anything from your CR, they must give you a new copy. But there is another way to keep current.......... I just bought my online report directly from Experian. While I was "exploring" the different sections of the report, my internet connection hung up before I could print my full report. According to Experian's website, I was now screwed - if you hit <BACK> on your browser or click out of hte website, your paid visit is OVER! I called their computer support the next day for assistance. They told me how to use the "Online Dispute" feature to get back into my original report. The amazing thing is that I can have unlimited access for 90 days this way!!! The information I am looking at is CURRENT - updated each day. (I can't get back to my FICO score however.) It is ironic however that the "Dispute" feature was disabled by Experian a few months ago according to the computer guy. I have no idea if it works this way at the other two CRAs - I guess it's worth a try though. Isn't it ironic that the person at the CRA trying the hardest to actually HELP us is the computer geek! Love these unsung heros. Hope this helps someone else keep their costs down. BKinUT
