Can someone recommend some good ways to get inquiries deleted from Credit Reports? I called Experian last year and tried to dispute some inquiries, but they stated that I have to contact the reporting company in order to get the inquiries removed. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.
Pretty difficult if they are legitimate.. You can always beg.. But beyond that.. They will say either they cant... or the person will have no clue how to do so
what if you apply for an auto loan and there is an inquiry from the dealer..then there is another inquiry from another auto lender? it seems that if you give the dealer permission to inquire it doesnt automatically mean they can submit to other lenders..Or can they?
I pretty much had the same thing happen to me, i applied at the dealership and they shopped it to about 7 different finance companies. When i contacted each company to get them to delete the inq. they told me that i signed an application and it said the dealer could shop me if they wanted to. I guess you had to state specifically that your credit report be pulled only once. Sucks to be me! Robyn
Yes when you sign the contract at the dealership it does authorize them to shop it around for the best rate they can get, or to find someone who would approve you.. That is why they are suppose to group those inquires made like that as one at the CRA's.. does it ever happen no.. but as far as I have been told it was suppose to be like that.
auto inquiries within 14 days of one anther count as 1 inquiry (for FICO score). Same with mortgage inquiries.
What if someone applies for 3 or 4 credit cards during a 7 day period or less? Would these inquiries count as one or multiple hard inq?
Hello, thats not true, i called the credit bureaus and they told me that each inquiry was counted as 1, they werent lumped into 1 because i applied for credit with a dealership. Each inquiry stated i applied for credit, it didnt say which kind of credit. Supposedly only inquiries that are 6 months or less make a real difference on your score. Mine happened in october of 2002 so i still a couple of months til it hits the 6 month mark then i will check my score and see if it jumps at all. Robyn
I'm sorry, but I wouldn't accept a CRA's statement that "you have to take the issue up with the original creditor"? If an unauthorized inquiry were to occur, what grounds do they think they have to refuse an investigation? They must investigate everything else a consumer disputes. Where in the FCRA does it specifically say that they have no responsibility in these matters?
Inquries. ... Effect your Score for up to 2 years. The score will increase after 1 year. Also, It is the law. The Credit bureaus have to dispute the inquiries. They will give you a hard time but keep on top of it and they will delete everyone.. Good Luck
You are correct in that they still show on your report, but they only count as one in determining your FICO Score. See link below. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/creditscoring/present/sld033.htm
