I looked up a CA the other day on the BBB website. They had lots of violations and overall it made them look pathetic. I was going to use this in trial to discredit them. However, I looked last night and everything is cleaned off and says that they are ok? WTH? Is the BBB even worth complaining too? I noticed where a company can update the list, so maybe the CA has a person who does this all the time. Any thoughts?

    The BBB is a joke.

I had a complaint against my company (I was not a member) and they sent me a letter demanding I refund the customers money. When I refused as that is not my policy, they put on their web site that I had several compaints against me.

A car dealership sold me a car ( the car had been in an accident and not properly repaired even though a licensed mechanic certified it as being road worthy) the front end colapsed causing me to hit a power pole. I compained to the BBB and they told me too bad that is your problem and did not do a damn thing for me.

    The BBB sucks!!!

I totally agree. I filed a complaint about PayPal, they have lots of them. It means absolutely nothing.

I think the Att Gen of your state generally will help you. I filed a complaint with the FTC the other day. I don't know yet what that will do. You can do the FTC complaint online. Charlie

I will admit, I filed a complaint with the Colorado Attorney Generals Office and they got something done. The CA wants me to remove my complaint. So maybe that does hurt them in some way.

Christine at bayhouse thinks they (the BBB) suck. I've never filed a complaint with the BBB. I tried to get the state attorney general in Florida to help me out with a debt consol company and absolutely nothing happened. So what to do???

Try the FTC online. I only sent my 1st one out about 10 days ago, so I don't have an outcome yet. I did the 1st via phone. The girl taking the info was very knowledgeable on the FDCPA. I called to ask some info and she said to file a complaint. I didn't have my files with me so I had to wing it. I wasn't prepared , but she helped me thru it. I hope that they help. They could be very good ammo. Charlie

Only thing with the FTC is, they do not act on individual complaints, rather they wait until they have x amount of complaints against a specific company and then they take action.
