Hi everyone. I have read the FAQ thoroughly more than once. Usually I consisder myself a fairly intelligent person but I am completely and utterly confused about how to handle the negatives on my CR. Would anyone be willing to help me by answering a few questions, please? Pretty please? Here is what I am looking at: 1) Judgement to a hospital dated 6/2000. This is a ridiculously drawn-out story and it seems I am incapable of resolving it. I was an employee of the hospital and I have a handwritten note scrawled on the judgement by the collections manager stating that this was in error and that I owed them nothing. The CRAs say that is not enough information to delete. The collections manager is no longer employed at the hospital and contacting the current manager might open up a huge other can of worms totally unrelated to this invalid judgement. It is set to fall off June 2007. Since that date is not that far out, should I just leave it alone and wait it out? 2) Cap One Bk: status: paid in settlement/$218 written off. Status Details: the account is scheduled to continue on record until March 2011. Last reported: 8/2005. 3) First Premier Bank: status: account charged off/$802 written off, $802 past due as of March 2006. I had no idea we still owed this! I realize ignorance is no excuse. Should I contact the company and pay this off? Would that help? I know we had an account with FPB, so I'm not disputing the validity really. I am surprised we still owe them but I have no records at all to back anything up. Would I just be better off writing them a check for $802 and waiting for 2012 for it to drop off? 4) First USA Bank: status: Paid, CLosed/Current, was past due 60 days. Last reported 10/2001. 5) Harris Bank: status: Paid, CLosed/Current, was past due 60 days. Last reported 8/2001. Would some form of a Goodwill Letter to 4 and 5 help? They've been paid in full for 5 years but are still making a negative impact on my CR and score. There's plenty more of the same...items that are are paid in full and haven't been reported for years that are showing as adverse marks. TIA for your time and patience.
