    Each time the Continental Congress met, a new President was elected. Some of these served as president two or three times.

    Nice to see that some do know their constitution.

    As you know, there were 15 presidents of the U.S. prior to George Washington. In fact, in a letter to John Hanson, of Maryland elected President in 1781, George Washington congratulated John Hanson for is "appointment to fill the most important seat in the United States"

    History has also failed to account for six additonal Presidents of the United States in Congress assembled, under the Articles of Confederation as well as seven others who were president of the Continental Congress, giving us a total of 15 prior to George Washington.
