Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! Author, I can't believe they would threaten to take your brother's dogs. Absolutely hideous. What a bunch of nuts! Even if they did have a court order or judgment, they still wouldn't be able to take the dogs. AG sounds whacko.......
It sounds like harrassement to me. If they called your house this much you'd put a stop to it quick. And I suspect that that is the reason why they aren't calling and rather stopping by... harder to prove. Were it me, I'd try my hardest be home tomorrow (?)when they come by. Staying as calm as humanly possibly make it simple and clear that they are harrassing you and that while it is legal to collect a debt is is illegal to harrass or threaten anyone (you, your grandma or the dogs!). Ask them to leave the property, let them know that you will (or have already) file a tresspassing complaint as well as a formal harassment complaint if they return. You can always print out a copy of your rights to give them to help refresh their memories. Were it me, I'd highlight it and circle the relevant parts with a big red pen.
Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! If he don't have a double barrel will two 55 gallon drums do?
Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! Take photos of them, their vehicle, and get a business card. Use a one time camera and also document each time they stop by. Tape the entire conversation. Della
Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! The working end of an Israeli made Norinco automatic assault rifle usually makes unwanted bill collectors re think their tresspssing on your property, Also if the people in your town are anything like the people in our town, and they try to take someone elses propety using peaceful non violent means, they usually find themselves meeting some very violent opposition..
Re: Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! Sell your dogs??? More like what country do you live in!!! Not true NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! Are you sure this company isn't tied into the mafia? Honestly I don't see how any company can continue with such practices without getting into some royal trouble. Guns and violence are NOT the solution in dealing with those goons, no matter how tempting. It would only end up getting the person whom they are trying to collect from in more trouble. The way some cities operate today if you were to pull a gun on them in your own house they would come arrest you. If they were to come to my house I would dial 911 and meet them at the door with a video camera. I would proceed to inform them that they are tresspassing and they are to immediatly leave the premises and not to return. Also, any future communications should be done in writing or telephonically. When the police arrive, I would attempt to file a complaint.
Re: Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! Ya it sounds like the mafia to me LOL. To travel 30 miles to collect a $70 payment. Just wait until you owe them 2 payments, it will be a national crisis!!!!
Re: Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! Really, the last poster summed it up well. The next time they come to your house call the police immediately! They will tell them in no uncertian terms to never come back onto your property again. Also it would be good to post a "No trespassing" sign on your property. The charge at least in PA would then be upgraded to defiant trespass. Instruct your realitives on what to do next time. Tac
Re: Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! TAC has the right idea, After further review, I would not resort to Violence and bloodshed YET. go for the defiant tresspassing charge. a video camera would help too. If that doesnt work just call the local police, and say you dont know who these guys are and they are threatining you , they will get tossed in the hole..
Re: Re: Re: Bill collector came by my house! Cameras, tape recorders and the police are about as good a way as any to terrorize them.
