Earlier this spring an account that I had included in BK 7 filing last year was still being reported as a Charge Off on my Experian report.

I sent a letter to the OC and they sent me a letter back stating that they had notfied Equifax and that the notation would be changed to say "Included in Bankruptcy."

I received an updated credit report in May verifying this, but I also notice that in the months since the OC has pulled my Equifax report three times for an Account Review.

Would this count as a violation by the OC?
Does your score go down every time this happens?

An account review inquiry is a "soft" inquiry that doesn't affect your score. However, it would be intereting to hear the creditors rationale for pulling your report for AR if the debt was discharged in BK-7.

I had an account discharged in BK-7 reappear on my EX report 9 years after it had been discharged. Experian verified it even though this listing was almost 10 years old! Even the OC had a hard time getting them to remov it!

Maybe they were making sure it was being reported correctly.

That makes sense Breeze, but 3 times? Anything is possible I suppose.

It's discharged though, account closed. They have no permissable purpose unless you gave them a separate authorization.

My BK was removed. Discharged 2/99 (NCER) 1-800-789-6237. I paid $300 & it was well worth it, two more to be removed out of 11.

You paid 300 bucks then for your BK to be removed?

    ok firstclass,

I understand that you were sharing in your excitement of having your bk tradelines removed.

It was the tradelines AND the bk listing itself or just the tradelines?

My concern was that you paid 300 bucks upfront. CRO's aren't allowed to charge for promises that they may or may not be able to keep.

    I was just curious.

Read the FAQ here and you'll see that there is nothing NCER (I'm not familiar with that name) could charge you for that you couldn't also have done yourself.

Did they tell you that upfront?

It's a personal decision and I'm not knocking your choice, I really just wanted to know what you were getting for your 300 bucks.

They told me that they can remove all negative items & that what I paid.
