I filed BK a while ago and have a question about co-signing. I am getting married this year and was wondering if my fiancee would be a valid co-signer once we are married. I know my credit will effect him and was thinking that if we needed to get a personal loan for something how this would work. Should I want to get a personal loan, would most banks let him co-sign on the loan as my husband? OR, since we are married and I have a BK on file, would they expect someone else to co-sign?

It would be a lot easier if he took out the loan without you on the contract.

However, if you insist on being a co-signer, it would be a lot easier for you to go to a credit union to get a loan. They're a lot more understanding than a regular bank.
