Is there anyone in this forum that has recently received a BK discharge and begun the credit repair process? I am new to the site - Just looking for advise on how to start and what to start with. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.
Start with ordering your credit reports and ensuring all accounts that were discharged are noted as such and that there are no duplicate accounts listed. Any accounts that were reaffirmed should be listed as such and payments should be reported. If and when you find mistakes, start asking questions here. I waited 9 months after BK, almost wish I'd started sooner. Start trying to re-establish credit right away, too. A great book I bought was Steven Synder's "Credit After Bankruptcy."
Ok - I already purchased that book and have started reading. I will wait until after discharge to start pulling reports. Thanks for your advice
