FYI: Early this morning, the BK Reform Bill stalled in the House of Rep. due to a debate over a provision that allows abortion protestors the ability to escape fines and judgements, as a result of blocking access to abortion clinics, by filing for bankruptcy. The bk reform bill will not be considered again until September. Here's a link to the article: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20020727/pl_nm/congress_bankruptcy_dc_12 Calmest_LA
I have posted four times today re:bk reform. the provision re:abortion clinic protestors ability to discharge fines received for their activities has always been a "red herring"...the dems put it in as a delay tactic...but this bill WILL pass as when the dems get everything THEY want they will drop this provision. My guess is that until the elections are held in November the dems will hold fast as this bill will definitely be unpopular with their constituencies. After the election, I believe, the bill will pass and the president has already stated he will sign it. Hopefully it will still contain the 180 days effective provision...but there is a slim chance it won't. This bill when passed into law will effect credit repair so I strongly suggest that everyone read it. I have started a thread "effects of bk reform" in order for everyone to contribute to the effort of disseminating the parts of the bill that will have a direct effect on we the consumers. If you have the time please contribute. Thanks. clc

Thanks. I was wondering what happened as I heard they were going on vacation and wanted to push this through. Yea, push it through after the scammers at Enron ect...get away with their selves intact. Quick stick it to the little guy before it filters down. Glad it stalled
