BK7 and selling my house Emergency

    My BK7 was discharged 8/02 , I am selling my house ( which is my primary residence and only house ) for a 100K profit. Can the trusted take away my profit?
    Any help is greatly appreciated it.

    you may want to post this at www.chat-cards.com - it;s a site like creditnet that's dedicated to BK issues. I imagine that the answer depends on whether your case has been discharged AND closed.

    meant also to add that it will depend on whether it was an asset case or not.

    Please help , it was listed on my scheduled C as property claimed as exempt with 20K value of exemption at the time of the filing. Thr property as since increades 100K in value. Thank you !!!

    It is listed on credit report as zero assets and zero liabilities. At the time of filing , I had 20K equity , homestead protection in my state is 95K . Now i have over 100k in equity . BK7 filed 4/02 , discharged 8/02 and property listed on Scedule C property claimed as exempt. Thank you.

    There is a certain time period after discharge where any large sums of money can still be taken by the trustee.

    I believe it is 6 months or a year so if you were discharged in 8/02 you should be ok now

    why not ask the lawyer who handled your case?
