I've seen some mention in past articles regarding avoiding cc's from companies which were included in a BK discharge....but, not a definitive answer... Is it true that I should not even consider applying with a cc company which I previously discharged in a BK? For me, I had a Ch7 BK discharge back in 4/98. I've seen some relatelively attractive ads/offers for the Bank One (aka First USA) Platinum Visa, but I had a First USA Visa account discharged in that '98 BK. Will I just be wasting an inquiry?
They have a VERY LONG MEMORY... FIRST USA/BANK ONE are one company...but you MIGHT get lucky if you go for a BANK ONE card...
I don't if First USA has a blacklist but they are not bk friendly. George is right don't waste the inquiry. Best regards, Mirage
Another twist I see that 1st USA is BK unfriendly... What about Citi? I also BK'ed them as well. If I wait until my scores are in the mid to upper 700's, does anyone think I have a chance with Citi or another other companies that were previously discharged?
Re: Another twist Citibank from past posts here on this board indicate that a blacklist exists. I too bk-13 on them and do not think I will be able to get a cc from them even after my bk falls off in 2003. At this point I do not know any slam-dunk prime lenders that will issue a cc with a bk on file. I know BofA will not even issue a secured cc with a bk on file. On the other hand Target Visa issued me a cc with the bk on file. I consider Target somewhere between sub-prime and prime. I did not bk on them. Best regards, Mirage Mirage
