Earlier this year I called the 800 number that enables one to block any inquiries about one's credit that were not initiated by that person. Is there any reason why this is NOT a good idea? I am not looking for unsolicited credit card offers and thgat was the only thing I could think of that would chenge.

    Thanks, Cortex

MANY OFFERS ARE BETTER than you can get "off the street"...
They send better offers with LOWER INTEREST RATE, and the CREDIT LIMIT IS HIGHER...(sometimes).
