I am the one that posted who get hit by the OTL fee from Amex when doing this same offer. Actually, it was my fiance.

We had a 0 balance before doing the transfer. They posted the transfer to the account about a week (give or take) before they increased the limit.

My fiance will be calling this afternoon to complain. He wanted to wait until I could be there when he called.

btw - the new balance even with the OTL fee is still under the new credit limit.

I see. This explains it. I would be complaining, too. The problem is, the only way to get the CL increase is to initiate the BT.

    Btw, long time, no see...

    Hi Momof3 :)

I guess I will finally be able to get any AMEX - except for Centurion - next Oct. NiceGuy is right there with me. I cannot IMAGINE pushing the buttons to the bureaus - when everything clears and I am left with 39+ accounts over 15 yrs, and an 800 score!

It will be more exciting than poker.
It will be almost as exciting as racing the A4.
It will be a 7 YR itch that finally got scratched.

    Arooooo!

I think I will get an AMEX Platinum Charge - but BLUE is kewl. Where they get you with the points process is -the Platinum Charge MR rewards are not compatible with Blue rewards.

    They are separate entities....

My fiance called and they credited him the fee, but they didn't explain why he was hit with the fee in the first place. I just hope that Amex does count this against him for future offers and interest rates, etc.

but of course, if the other had NOT called, the fee is on....

making the customer suffer unless they are proactive and cautious...

Regarding the different rewards programs....I have a rewards charge card and Blue card and both contribute miles to my Membershi Rewards account...I don't have two separate rewards accounts
