Does anyone have any experience with bmw visa, it has a 3.9 intro, go to rate of 10.75 for platinum, they have an ultimate card(no preset)which is like a visa signature but I think it is invitation only.
Very interesting, I'd not heard of that one before. I just did a quick search and found this link and online application, though: http://banking.bmwusa.com/CreditCard.asp Looks like a lot of information there. Doc
I've had the BMW card since October 2001. I have not seen anyone else with the card in the Scottsdale, AZ area where I live. I always get attention when I use it. I used to own a BMW and was sent a pre approved invitation. It was the only bank to call my job to verify employment. The rep said it's hard to qualify for. It's a nice looking card. As always, I don't have any problems with the card, bank or website. I highly recommend it. AZMDZ
azmdx, what kind of limit did they give you and what report did they pull? Was the invite for the ultimate card? Thanks
They gave me a 20,000.00. They pulled Equifax. By the way, the card doesn't say Platinum BMW card, just BMW card. It wasn,t the ultimate card.
Ron, I just applied and didn't get an instant reply message so I assume they don't have an instant approval process. I have an account with them for the past three years and I have never been late so I assume that will count for something. Will keep you posted.
When I was looking at a Bimmer vs. Audi, the lease app had some verbage about the BMW card and the lease app. being also for the card unless I checked "no"... Too bad Audi (VW) doesn't do it too! -mj
I also have a BMW Visa Card. I purchased in car in 2000 but I did not finance through their financial services department. I received a preapproval in early 2001. They did a soft inquiry on Experian prior to receiving the pre-approved application. When I checked my Trans Union profile this past September. they had placed a hard inquiry on that report prior to sending the card. My limit is not as high as 20,000.00. I was given a limit of 10% of my stated salary. The interesting thing is they report to two CRAs. Experian & Trans Union. The name of the company on Experian is BMW Bank of North America in Utah. On Trans Union I have an entry for the same account stats (account number, limit etc.) but the name of the reporting company is NE Fed CU (no address). Have a great day. KK
kk, what are your opinions on the card and would you recommend the card. It looks like the only people with the card have been preapproved. Thanks
I have only had the card for eight months, so there is not much to tell. I believe you can apply for the card if you logon to the bmwusa.com website. There is a financial section there. I don't know the influence of having purchased a BMW in the approval process. The pre-approval application that I received stated platinum but as someone else posted earlier, my card says "BMW Card".
