Just so people know, I applied for a Bank of America secured card and was denied because they pulled TU which has my providian Charge Off.

So, I got denied and I got a hard INQ for nothing.

    They pulled TU in Jersey.

It took them over 2 weeks to return my check.

    THAT IS JUST WRONG!!!!

Ok you send $1,000 and you can charge $500 SO HOW CAN THEY LOSE??? THEY HAVE THE $1,000!!!

It is not like you could ever spend even $1,000.01

I got a secured VISA from BOA when my scores were around 550.

Now up to 720 FICO and they have taken me off secured 1000$ limit to unsecured $2500 limit. I can't complain - it was their reporting that helped boost my scores

I just have to figure out how to get the Providian charge off ...off of my TU. That is the only one that Asset Acceptance reports to. Providian isn't even on my reports since I disputed its existence. (CO from 2001)

Any ideas on AA? I just recieved their verification letter the other day. It shows providian reaffirming that I had an account with them.

When I was turned down for BofA a few months back, I asked about a secured card. They told me I had to wait FIVE years after Ch7. That's pretty amazing for a secured card.

The sense I have of this is BofA considers themselves better than your average bank/CC and they want to keep their standards high.
