BofA closing my account and holding my funds

Hi all. Admittedly, I did not treat my bank account the way I should have. Too many overdrafts, low balances, etc. Anyway, BofA decided to close my account last week. The problem is they froze the account a few days before my direct deposit posted. My DD posted last Friday, so I don't owe them anything, however, they still have my remaining balance. Is there anyway for me to speed up getting my funds or do I just have to wait for them to decide to send me a check?

BOA customer service is usually pretty helpful. Try giving them a call; they will probably expedite your funds to you as long as you do not currently owe them anything. You may also try talking to them about what happened. They may be willing to reopen your account with out any check writing privileges and only allow you to use your debit card. This way they do not run the risk of further bounced checks.

I've been a BOA customer (checking, 2 savings and 1 CC) for the past 4 years. If there is a branch near you, I would suggest going there and speaking with someone face to face. That way you are a real person in front of them, not just another phone call.

Good luck and let us know what happens.
