I received a 4% Balance Transfer offer from BofA with pay no Balance Transfer Fees, and said I was eligible to increase my credit limit to $22,000 with a balance transfer. I called to see if they ran an inquiry. The lady said she didn't know but she could approve the limit increase right away with a Balance Transfer. Has anyone used the credit limit increase offer and know if a hard was run?
i've used it a number of times - they never ran a hard inquiry, it's usually offered after they run a soft inquiry to see if you're eligible. Go for it!
I received the BT offers 4% until paid off plus limit increase up to $15,000. I called them to ask for limit increase to $18,000 and no hard inquiry. Ron.
I've gotta question. I have a BoA with a 3000 cl. If I receive one of these offers again, which I believe I have recently, does it matter how much you do a balance transfer with? I pay all my cards off every month, so, nothing to transfer. But, If I do rack one about $1000.00 for Christmas, will they still up the CL significantly?
With Mom's they sent checks - said she could make them out to herself. Don't try to do online BT to a debt card, though, doesn't work.
I need your opinion on something re: CL increases thourgh BOFA... I opened a BOFA Gold secured card in July 02 with a $500.00 which went to the Bofa Gold unsecured in Sept 03. All 15 months good payment history Well I called BOFA for a credit limit increase and the lady said they would have to pull a hard inquiry, so I told her I would get back to them later. I know they pull TU and my TU score is 659 with these negative factors... --Serious delinquency or derogatory --The proportion of balances to credit limits on your revolving/charge accounts is too high ( Mine is 36%, because my balance is $159 of a $500 CL ) I just wanted to get your opinion if you think they would approve me based on my 659 TU credit score and remarks. I don't want to waste a hard pull if you think I'll get denied. Or should I wait till next month and pay down my $159 balance to get under a 31% proportion of balances and have atleast one of the negatives remarks removed? Func15 A special thanks you to all. Thanks to this forum my score has improved from a TU 603 5/02 -----> TU 659 11/03
The originally turned me down with a TU score of 715. Too many inquirires was the reason. I called the retention dept. 5 out of the 6 were for my mortgage. They reconsidered me, but only for a Cl of $3000.00
