COMBINE 2 SEPARATE ACCOUNT INTO ONE AND CLOSE ONE...IS A LIMIT INCREASE...SO I MUST WAIT 6 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE ACCOUNTS BEING COMBINED!!! THAT IS SO WRONG!!!
I've never figured that out. How can combining two cards that you already have (credit limits that you already have) be construed to be a credit limit increase? If they combined and gave you more than the combined limits I could see it, but otherwise I just don't see how they figure that. Have you tried PFB?
THE EXACT AMOUNT...NOT EVEN $1.00 MORE!!! I "THINK" I WILL START WITH "RETENTION" DECEMBER 2002 or before that was my last credit limit increase...APRIL 2003 COMBINE...so they said I could ask in OCTOBER 2003 for a "PRE-APPROVED" increase...THAT IS 6 MONTHS AFTER THE COMBINING!!!
What a pile of you-know-what. So, I guess the lesson is to get credit limit increases first, then combine. I wonder if they'd make you wait six months after your last increase to combine the cards? Do they consider it a limit increase that way, too?
Re: Re: BofA has the CAPITAL ONE SYNDROME!! I would have WAITED...but the second card did NOT have the PRIME + 0.00% rate...so it was USELESS...so it would not have any benefit until combined...
Re: Re: BofA has the CAPITAL ONE SYNDROME!! I do not know any of the credit situations, but maybe combining two credit cards and then asking for a limit triggers something in the system? Also, maybe if you are copping an attitude with the rep on the phone, that is a little less incentive to help you out. Just my 2¢.
Re: Re: Re: BofA has the CAPITAL ONE SYNDROME!! E-MAIL...NOT PHONE COP-AN-ATTITUDE??? ME??? I'M A TEDDY BEAR... F.Y.I. 25+ years no lates no over-limit no collection no bk
Re: Re: Re: BofA has the CAPITAL ONE SYNDROME!! I did a PFB.... I will see what comes of it... I DREW THEM A PICTURE I had 2 accounts...account #1 limit $XX,XXX Account #2...$3,700 I closed account #2...and transferred the $3,700 credit limit to account #1 My last credit limit was LAST YEAR (DECEMBER, 2002 I THINK)...I thought that a "PRE-APPROVED" credit limit increase every 6 months would be about MAY 2003...but you "THINK" that combining two accounts into one is a limit increase??? I DON'T GET THAT...PLEASE EXPLAIN
Re: Re: Re: BofA has the CAPITAL ONE SYNDROME!! IN THE PFB I DID NOT EVEN ASK FOR A LIMIT INCREASE...I JUST ASKED ABOUT WHY THEY "THINK" THAT COMBINING TWO ACCOUNTS INTO ONE SHOULD BE THE SAME AS A LIMIT INCREASE
