I just decided to call Bank of America retention to inquire about a lower purchase rate. The rep was so nice and professional. She immediately lowered my rate to 5.9% for purchases and balance transfers. BofA never ceases to amaze me. They have increased my limit more than $6,000 within 2 years without hard inquires. Now this. I only wish I had rewards on this card. :-/ Oh well, can't have it all. LOL Just a heads up for everyone. Obviously 7.9% is not their lowest rate.
- 8004me- Congrats on your lower rate!! I am so impressed with BofA service. -BTW, a BIG THANKS to Marcie, Ron & Marie for help with all the retention numbers on this board. They have helped me SO MUCH. Thank you!! If I missed anyone else who contributed R numbers, sorry- I thank you too!
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! Sure thing. This is the link I used: http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...ead.php?s=&threadid=21337&highlight=retention Good luck!!
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! I have to agree with the poster. Bank of America does do what they can to make their customers happy once a customer expresses dissatisfaction... today at the drivethrough the teller asked if my two maltese dogs ( my babies ) would like a treat. Always humerous to get milkbones at the bank drive thru.
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! Wow, that's even better. Thanks vghost. I definately bookmarked that.
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! After reading, I called BofA retention department to ask for the lower APR for purchases. I told her that I need to a lower rate for purchasing a big screen tv,She told me that I need to hold the line for seconds. She came back to tell me that my Visa Platinum ia qualified for 5.9% fixed for purchases and BT and 19.99% for caah advances. She also told me that it is intro rate and she is very nice. She also told me that I will receive the terms from the mail. Thanks foe the info, miles. It is a lowest rate of all my cards. I love BofA. Ron.
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! Just got my card yesterday, gotta love the rates that they are giving out. Did you get the mini card? Best regards, Mirage
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! Mirage, I got minicard three months ago and it is very nice. Did you get leather mini-card leather holder? Ron.
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! Ron, no. I did not know that was an option. I plan I slipping it into my wallet. Best regards, Mirage
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW faztcobra, 5.9% is not intro rate and ithe rate is good as long as the account is good standing. Sorry I missed the word "NOT". Ron.
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW Mirage, They enclosed the info about minicard cover with the mincard and it is free. I think I post it earlier and here is the message link: http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...ead.php?s=&threadid=49299&highlight=mini+card Ron.
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW I was just approved two days ago for the 9.9 fixed plat card. I have yet to receive or activate my card (naturally). Do you need to have your account open for some period of time to get the 5.9? Have you tried, Mirage?
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW Yep, BofA is my best CC. Great CS, generous increases, and competitive rates. Calling on Monday to see if I can get that 5.9%....
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW Well, I think I screwed up my chance for an increase anytime soon (b/c I had it close to my limit & didn't make large payments). If I pay them off completely in one bulk payment and then call, after about 3 mths inactivity, do you think I might get an increase then? They are the best card I have too, I just got too happy with it . PS Limit is only 500 now. Thx!
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW Ron- Congrats!! I'm glad others are successful as well. This is such a great rate. Mirage- I would definitely get the mini card. It has come in handy for me several times. I have left my wallet/checkbook at home when going to pick up an order to go at a restaurant or to pick up items from the store. Dreading I'd have to make a trip home and back, it dawned on me.....I have my mini card. Definitely saved the day!! Also, order the leather case. It really looks good. NiceGuy- It wouldn't hurt to call retention and ask about the rate. Maybe you should activate the card first? I hope you have success. If they won't give it to you yet, use the card, carry a small balance several times and pay it off. I do this regularly. I think BofA likes when you carry any type of balance occasionally. They have raised my limit over $6,000 in just two years without an inquiry (would have been more, but I've only called 2x's for an increase). I believe this process helps your internal score with them. JMO though. Good luck!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW Trina, I think it is very good to make large payments on any card. However, if you are looking for an increase, I wouldn't let the card sit idle. I would use it regularly and make the large payments. I have found it difficult to receive large increases or rate reductions from issuers when I haven't been using their card. This is just my experience though.
