Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW Just for anyone who's curious, I called retention and asked for the 5.99% - the guy said no because my card is only 8 months old. He said I might try calling back next month. Oh well... JPARTDQ
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW My brother in-law has the BofA Gold and he did a BT transfer for close to the CL max. He did this about 9 months ago and he has yet to make a purchase on it. As of today when I spoke with him he has yet to receive a CLI. He's not too concern, but I'm wondering if him not making a purchase is keeping him from getting a CLI. At his point I have too much credit as I don't know how to keep them all active. I did manage to BT two of them and now thinking of BT the wife's balance onto the BofA to generate activity. Thanks for the info on the mini-card cover. NiceGuy, nope did not try for the reduction but I figure at this point I may be getting a 4% BT rate if I leave the card idle for a month or so. Let us know if your going for it. Best regards, Mirage
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW miles, It sound like the same nice lady to lower my rate and it is lowest rate of all my card. 5.9% fixed for purchases and BT and I think it is the same offer. I ha ve another Platinum Visa and I have good rate for BT ( prime rate until paid off and purchases rate is 9.9%. I'm not going to change that Visa. Thanks for info again. In order to get that low 5.9% fixed, I think that you need to have the card more than a year. I don't know it made difference having a Advantage checking and savings account and overdraft LOC with them. Ron.
Re: Re: Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AW okay I called my brother in law this morning and told him that a CLI should be here soon. He looked at his records and noted to me that he has had the account since Feb/2002 with no CLI. I'm guessing he's going to have to make a purchase before a CLI is made. Btw, he has never missed a payment but more often than not only makes the min. due. Best regards, Mirage
Re: BofA is freakin' AW No dice for me. R told me that since my entire bal is already at 4%(from BTs), he couldnt lower my rate from 11.99. Doh! Guess I won't be using BofA for purchases anytime soon.
I just called BofA and they gave me the 5.99% rate! She seemed kind of hesitant at first, and I am such a coward about asking for this kind of stuff. The BofA is really our only CC for the time (I'm not counting my two cc's from subprime hells that I have sock drawed away) and we do use the account a lot and keep it about 5 - 30% utilization. Also, it has been almost exactly 1 year since we have had the account, so maybe that helped get the rate? Also, I recently did a BT with them for the 4% offer they have going, but I don't have any other accounts with them. I am really impressed with the CS of BofA..... Thanks for the post Miles
After reading these posts, I called BofA today to have my 9.9 rate reduced. I didn't specify what APR I wanted. After being placed on hold for 30 seconds, the rep. offered 5.9 for purchases but said that my 19.99 for cash advances would stay the same. Then she said she was wrong about that. The new cash rate would be 5.9 also. I've only had the account for 7 months.
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! I wouldn't care if CASH ADVANCES were 68.99% With BT's so easy...WHY DO A CASH ADVANCE???
Re: Re: BofA is freakin' AWESOME!! I know this is cc talk here but if you obtained a mortgage through a BRANCH of B of A don;t call a broker like myself....deal directly with them, for 300 bucks you should be able to have your rate dropped (paperwork costs) and be on yer way. This will not work if you went through a broker or B of A's "mortgage department" but if you went through a branch this might be the cat's meow. Oh, and if the rate is a lil higher then a broker......figure out the closing costs and how long you'll be in the home, chances are you will be better off going with the B of A deal.
