I got an offer in the mail for their gold card. I was thinking of applying to do a balance transfer with them. Getting rid of my balances on 1st premier and FCNB, not capone (0% apr right now).

2.9% fixed intro apr (purchases and BT's)
13.49 or 18.49 go to rate
    no AF
    no BT fees
    CL up to $5000.

I only want $1000. MillCBS says they check TU (my second worst report). If I apply and get declined, does anyone have any PFB success for that?

    TIA

My hubby got that preapproval in the mail - we're in PA and they pulled Experian. He had a 695 when we applied for his and he was approved for $2,000. We got the approval online in about 30 seconds.

Great, Experian is my worst report. Maybe I'll wait a little while to do this.... Thanks

They pulled Experian on me last year, too.

    Erica,

I applied for Bank Of America Platinium Mastercard two yrs ago and they pulled reports from TransUnion. Second time I applied for Platinium Visa a year ago on the websites and they pulled credit report from Equifax. They have good customer services. I request the credit line increase everytime and they approved me in mintues. I can paid my bill by deducting from Bank Of America Checking on the websites. They posted it in the following business days. They gave me 9.9% APR for purchase and it is not a bad card to have.

I just got the same one....did it have that cheesy fake credit card inside? What is that supposed to do, make me open the application faster thinking there was a credit card inside? Well that's what it did...I opened that letter first that day. :))

Good Luck Erica. Happy New Year.

Happy new year to you too Dave! Don't drink too much! :p

I will hoist a few for you to toast your new marriage. I will also do one for Rudy Giuliani, one for the victims and their families of 9/11, one or 2 for my grandma & relatives/friends who are no longer here, a toast to freedom, my normal toast to Guy Lombardo, one for my baby and one more for the road, heck I may even toast bread...but asking me not to drink too much is beyond my self restraint capabilities. I will try and stop short of death though :)

Just kidding....I will definitely stop before then :)) Have a wonderful new years eve and a fantastic 2002.

A bit excessive, don't you think? LOL. I may be celebrating the New Year at home. Still don't know what the plans are....

BTW...Thanks for hijacking my thread!!! :p

Anyone use PFB for a denial and get results?

I got that very same offer three months ago. I was tempted, but didn't respond. Yesterday, I got a pre-approved offer for their platinum card, 0% intro, 9.9% fixed go to rate. Not much has changed with my credit since their last offer, so maybe waiting was a good idea.

My brother in law received a BoA Gold card offer last weekend. He applied online last Monday. He has yet to recieve a status on his application.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

9.9% fixed is the best rate that they have. Pre-approval is not eay to get from Bank Of America. I didn't receive pre-approval offer from them. I applied on-line and got approval. The APR was 19.8% and it is not good rate. I request my APR redutction a couple of times and got down to 9.9% APR. Now both Platinium Visa and M/C of mine have 9.9% APR. I request credit line increase and I got approved everytime. Their customer service is very good.
