Iâ??ve applied for Bank of America Secured card. Sent them check on $250 with app, and after month I havenâ??t received card yet. Called them today, and found out that they want me to send copy of my SSN. Is this normal procedure or what? My SSN is valid number, by the way.

    Thanks,
    Denny

A "COPY" OF YOUR SS CARD PROVES NOTHING!!!!

I don't even have access to mine!!! (the paper card)

Usually they require a copy of IRS Form SS-9, but a copy of your Social Security card will be sufficient. Banks are required to have a valid taxpayer ID number.

Perhaps they have another customer in their system with the same SSN and they want to make sure who it really belongs to. That happened where I work - new application, and SSN matched up with another customer's!!

Did you call and ask what "THEIR" mistake was???

Did you ask for A MANAGER???

"IF" the card is important...I guess you MUST send a copy of SS CARD...

    Hi George,
I had a hard time getting supervisor, so I guess it will be more difficult to get to manager ...:( Well, every card is important to me since I'm building history.
