I called BofA retention just now to see about a line increase. They told me the account was too new (opened last July) and that I had to wait nine months.

BUT, they offered me a BT @ the prime rate until paid in full. Not the zero percent I wanted, but pretty good anyway. I haven't decided if I want to use it.

I got the same offer in the mail--prime until paid off. It sounded good, but if the prime rate goes up, so does the interest rate. Citibank and FirstUSA both give good rates but they are fixed. I have one at 6.9% and one at 3.9%, just got an offer from FirstUSA for 5.9%. I think for now I'll stay with them.

In this economy what do you think the chances of seeing the prime rate go up really are? All-in-all it's a pretty good deal. Right now my only other offers are:

0% for six months on Household
3.9% until April 2004 on Advanta
    4.9% until paid on Citibank
6.9% until April 2004 on another Citibank card

My Household card with the 0% offer only has a CL of $3,000 but it was my first 0% offer ever.

That´s right!. BofA gives the first limit increase at the 9 months mark. I think that there are not exceptions to the rule.

The prime rate for bal transfer is usual. I have the same promo for my two BofA cards

I received a credit limit increase after 6 months. At the time, I had a gold card and my credit limit was like $4,000. The website stated that the minimum credit limit was $5,000. I insisted on having my credit limit at least match the minimum they advertised. They finally bumped it to like $5,500, but it cost me a hard.

At the 9th month they does not pull an inquire (soft only), they ask for your income and how much you would like your limit raised.

TAKE IT...(that is what I have)

4.25% (maybe lower VERY SOON) till PAID...is better than 0.00% for 6 months with a MUCH HIGHER "GO-TO"

    4.25%

Even if you don't want to "MAX" IT OUT (less $100.00)...if you do...you will get a limit increase..."I could BT $2,000 more if I got a NO INQUIRY limit increase"

NO.. i'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT INFO.....

I just wasn't "requesting" an increase... just hoping if she is in a good mood shell give a CLI to the person who signed the letter.... (me!)

I have a unique name.... Only one is USA (world?) with my name...

So BofA may be able to find me by name only...... Hmm?
