I applied for a Bank of America Gold Card on July 23. On the 27th, they sent me a letter asking for address verification, I received it on the 1st of August. I faxed them a bank statement on the 2nd. Today (7th) I called them, and they can't verify that they received my fax, but the CSR told me they were backlogged. Argh! I asked if I would be approved once my bank statement was received, and she said she could not tell me, but that my application and score were "very favorable".

At this point I'm pretty sure I'll be approved, but the waiting is killing me. I'm not a patient person. :) They pulled TU for those of you wondering, and my score was probably around 700 (FICO) at the time.

This was the last app I put in after a long string. When I started in May I was just trying to get a card - any card. Now I've got a Orchard Bank 18.9% $300 limit, Target Visa 12.9% $700 limit (started at 15.9%), GMCard 15.49% $5000 limit (just got it upped from $4000), and a First USA Kiss card 9.99% $5000 limit (got it lowered from 11.74%).

Once again, thanks for the help everyone. I just got a good interest rate on my new car, and within 3 months of my first credit card, I've broken the 10% interest barrier :)

    Hey,

If they asked for more information, that is usually a good sign.

They wouldn't waste their time confirming something as simple as your address if nothing was going to happen.

What, I don't know, but at least you weren't declined.

    I wish you luck.......

That is what I was thinking too. I'm just hoping they don't find something else to disqualify me with.

    thanks!

You might want to try an email to this person. She is in their exec offices and was VERY helpful with me. Turned an initial denial into a 20k limit platinum card.

I have one negative left on my TU report (a paid Discover account that was 90 days past due several times about two years ago) and was approved last month for an $8,600 platinum card at 10.9%.

Is your score in the same range as mine, or much higher?

I got approved last month with a 4 yr old unpaid charge-off for $549 and 3 old 30 day lates. I don't know what my score was when I applied but their online (crappy) no good score said I was 614 but I believe it was much higher than that.

I got a $4100 cl with 11.99% fixed rate Visa Gold card.

They ended up approving me today. Checked earlier this morning and it was still pending, checked just now and it says I'm approved with a $4k limit. I'm gonna call them and see what interest rate they gave me. Hoping to get lower than 10%, and if not, guess I'll try to talk them into it.

Ooops, nevermind. Just read the "disclosures" and it says I have 10.99% fixed. Not bad, but it never hurts to try for something better.

Once again, thanks guys. I would never have been able to get this without creditnet. I wouldn't even know to call and negotiate APR and limits without the knowledge I've gained from reading posts on here all the time :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am very happy with my BofA account. I think you will enjoy doing business with them.

BTW, when you call to ask them about the rate, ask about upping the credit limit. If you have a gold card, the last time I was at the website, it stated the minimum limit was $5,000. Maybe they will up it for you if you inform them that the website has misinformation. However, if the website is correct, there must have been an error when your credit limit was assigned. Either way, it should be reviewed. Good luck!!!

Thanks miles. I've read everywhere that they're a good bank to do business with, and I'm looking forward to it.

It looks like the minimum $5k is for the platinum. The gold doesn't list a minimum. Maybe I'll try to get upgraded to platinum anyway.
