Loaded LE V6 at 21100 plus tax. Very good price after haggling all afternoon. 4000 down. 4.9% apr.

The local huge and I mean huge dealer was advertising 4.9% and lower rates for Tier I and II credit in the newspaper. Means over 660 score in the fine print. My bk in 1997 did not hurt me one bit. The only thing questioned was why I had credit card inquiries in the last month. Obviously, I had discovered this place and applied for more cards. Had 2 cards last month. Now 6 this month.

I bought a used Lincoln Continental in 1998 with a credit union loan at close to 9% interest after my bk. My wife's brother bought it yesterday.

No charge offs or repos in my record. Just the bk. We did have to show a utility bill and pay stubs.

If Toyota had not come thru with the loan the CU would have at 2 points more.

My apologies to whoever I told in chat that I was waiting for the end of the month for a better deal. The better deal arrived today.

    King,

What bureau did they pull? You mention that the only thing on your report was a BK from 97. What about accounts included in the BK? Were they there too? The reason I ask is b/c I have a BK 13 from 96, but all included accts are on there too, until next year when it everything comes off. I may be needing a new car soon!

    Hey mindcrime,

I enjoyed talking with you last night dude. It is a rainy day here so the car is in the garage until the sun comes out but the car test drove great. The maintenance is simple so I can do it myself. platinum plugs good for 60000 miles etc.

Likewise King. It's been raining here too in Cali. Hopefully you'll have some sun tomorrow to take your car for a spin. Keep me posted.

    Experian

4 credit card accounts were gotten rid of in the bk. they show on my credit reports.

If your credit has been clean since your bk then you should go buy the car. But go to a big dealer in a major city. Don't screw around in some podunk lot in a podunk city. I liked the camry and the Ford mustang. Either dealer would have given me a good interest. Both good cars. Even when I bought the Continental in 1998, I got the going rate.

Stupid me. I only found out last month that I can get more credit cards after a BK. Until I found this place I only had Cap 1 and Providian.
