Good for you. Keep on perpetuating hate...

The attitude you have is the same one that Islamic fundamentalists had when they leveled the WTC...

Thanks for recognizing my right to not welcome those that despise my country, as well as the citizens that make up this county.

I wouldn't really agree with your expression of "perpetuating hate" then comparing me to the Islamic fundamentalists who blew up the WTC. Kind of an absurd and extreme analogy, it is not like I am planning on blowing up the Eiffel Tower. I think that is a cheap shot.....

    Re: Re: Boycott France?!

Nobody is asking you to "welcome" the French to anything-- they're content in France. Your comment makes the assumption that the French as a whole hate America. They don't. I don't know how else I can try to tell everyone this.

And I'm not at all comparing YOU to the freaks of Islam that took down the WTC. They were truly disgusting. (You, obviously, are not.) I was simply comparing the hatred you have for the French to the hatred they had for the US. I'm not implying that you'd ever do what those terrorists did, I'm just saying, hate is a cycle that should be stopped.

Perhaps as whole, the Frenchies do not "hate" Americans.

But do you at least agree, that at least some Frenchies resent America??

Of course, I would argue a substantial amount or Frenchies despise America and Americans.

ABSOLUTELY!! You'll get no argument from me here! :) My point is just that it isn't fair to use a blanket assumption on the basis of one poll that has yet to cite any sources. Even if the poll is well-founded, it only means that 1/3 of France is rooting for that bastard. I'd like to remind you that 1/3 of the USA is opposed to the war, but that in NO WAY reflects the opinion of the entire country. Just as the US is diverse in opinion, France is, too.
Have a great evening and I hope, just as I'm sure we all do, that this war soon becomes a thing of the past.... :)

I just wanted to ask if you at least agreed that at least some Frenchies dislike America to make sure you weren't completely disillusioned.

Long before recent events I had a general dislike for France, based on personal experience. Recent events have only furthered the dislike.

Regardless of what any statistics a poll has to say about how the French feel towards America, actions speak more than words. The fact is, when we needed France to stand by our side, our alleged fair weathered ungrateful ally couldn't raise a finger to help. Rather, they supported the enemy with necessary military supplies and refused to back us politically.

If the majority of the citizens of France were true allies of America, this attitude would have been reflected in political support of America. Instead, they chose to bash and oppose.

Political/governmental decisions more often than not reflect the sentiments of the citizens they govern, at least in free societies such as ours and France.

    Anyhoo, just my two centavos.

    Mustard

The makers of French's Mustard made the following recent statement: "We at the French's Company wish to put an end to statements that our product is manufactured in France. There is no relationship, nor has there ever been a relationship, between our mustard and the country of France. Indeed, our mustard is manufactured in Rochester, NY. The only thing we have in common is that we are both yellow."

Are you sure that you copied that verbatim? :)
The official release that I read said something along the lines of: "There is nothing more American than French's mustard."
    Just curious....

    Subject: Fw: The French

A long time ago, Britain and France were at war. During one battle, The
French captured an English major. Taking the Major to their
headquarters, the French General began to question him. The French
General asked, "Why do you English officers all wear red coats? Don't
you know the red material makes you easier targets for us to shoot at?"

In his bland English way, the Major informed the General that the reason
English officers wear red coats is so that if they are shot, the blood
won't show and the men they are leading won't panic.

And that is why from that day to now all French Army officers wear brown
    pants

Yeah let's make a country suffer because they disagreed with us...I thought disagreement was so American...I see no one really has free speech here. All lies!

    Nonsense.

France did not merely disagree with us. They went to extraordinary contortions, behind our backs, to disrupt everything we were trying to do, even to the point of bribing African countries to vote against us with cash under the table.

We find out now that France was lining their own pockets with cash from the Oil for Food program. That's why they didn't want us to interfere with their cash cow.

    Please do your homework.

Very good Butch, very good. Ya know if some people would just go down to the local community college and take "History before 1865" and "History after 1865", they wouldn't be protesting this war, backing France, talking bad about the Pres, etc. But you have to know your stuff, otherwise, your just one of those 19 year olds out there protesting for a reason that they don't even know their protesting for.......
